A man was shot to death early Thursday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired at 1:16 a.m. found the 19-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in the 300 block of South Whipple, Chicago Police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:32 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name was not released Thursday afternoon.
A police source said the man was a documented gang member.
